BMW Introduces New Range-Topping Variant of 7 Series in India, The 7-Series 740d M Sports starts at Rs. 1.81 Crore
BMW has expanded its flagship sedan lineup in India, adding new range-topping variants to the electric i7 and the ICE-powered 7-Series. The new offerings include the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, priced at Rs 2.50 crore, and the 7 Series 740d M Sport, priced at Rs 1.81 crore (ex-showroom, India).
BMW 7-Series 740d M Sport Specs & Performance
The new 7-Series 740d M Sport joins the 740i (Rs 1.70 crore) in the ICE-powered 7-Series lineup. The 740d is equipped with a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 286 hp and 650 Nm of torque. It allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 kph in a claimed 6.0 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph.
This engine is complemented by mild-hybrid technology featuring a 48V electric motor that provides an additional 18 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The powertrain is coupled with a sporty 8-speed automatic transmission. However, the 740d does not include the remote start function present in the 740i. Otherwise, it offers similar features to its petrol-powered counterpart. The 7-Series 740d M Sport variant competes with the Mercedes S-class, Audi A8 L, and Lexus LS in the Indian market.
