Maruti Suzuki is India’s leading car manufacturer and is on the verge of a significant transformation in its product lineup as it focuses on sustainability and eco-friendliness. The company is gearing up to introduce a range of hybrid and electric vehicles to meet the changing needs of the Indian market. 1. Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater
Maruti Suzuki is expanding its presence in the competitive SUV segment with a three-row version of the Grand Vitara. It is expected to debut by 2025 and will accommodate seven passengers with more space and versatility. The 7-seater Grand Vitara will share the Global-C platform with the current-gen Grand Vitara but with a longer wheelbase. Cosmetic updates will set it apart from the two-row version while retaining the same powertrain options as the Grand Vitara.
2. New-generation Maruti Swift
Suzuki unveiled the next-generation Swift at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. The new hatchback boasts a hexagonal grille with chrome surrounds, updated bumpers, projector headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, and restyled taillamps. Dual-tone alloy wheels, C-shaped LED taillight inserts, and other design elements enhance its appeal.
The interior shares elements with the Baleno and Fronx, including the 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, steering wheel, and HVAC controls. For a premium touch, electronic parking brake and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have been added. The highlight is the new 1.2-litre petrol hybrid powertrain, promising fuel efficiency of up to 35 kmpl. The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to launch in India in 2024.
3. New-generation Maruti Dzire
The Maruti Dzire is the sedan counterpart to the Swift and is also due for an upgrade. It is expected to launch in India alongside the Swift in 2024. The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire will share engine and transmission options as well as interior design with its hatchback sibling. This ensures that sedan enthusiasts will have access to the same technological advancements and eco-friendly features as the Swift hatchback.
4. Maruti eVX
Suzuki showcased the eVX concept at the 2023 Japanese Mobility Show. The exterior design remains faithful to an earlier concept presented at the Auto Expo. It features Y-shaped LED headlights and DRLs, muscular bumpers, flared wheel arches, and aerodynamic wheels. The interior takes on a futuristic look, with a large screen housing an integrated driver’s display and infotainment touchscreen, a gamepad-style steering wheel, and a rotary drive selector. This electric SUV is expected to offer a remarkable driving range of over 500 km making it among the best upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars launching in 2024.
