Volkswagen is planning to introduce the seven-seater VW Tayron in India possibly through the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route with local assembly. The launch is scheduled for 2025 and it will share the same platform as the latest global Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Tiguan. In international markets, the Tayron is available with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol or a 2.0-litre diesel engine, both equipped with 48V mild-hybrid technology. Additionally, a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) variant is offered in two states of tune with an electric-only range of over 100 Km.
