Kia is among the leading automakers in the world automotive industry. The Korean giant is gearing up for new launches both globally and in the Indian market. These are the upcoming new Kia cars launching in 2024 in India.
1. Kia Sonet Facelift
Kia is giving the well-equipped subcompact SUV, the Sonet a mid-life update in 2024. The facelifted Sonet has been spotted multiple times during testing and the recent spy shots reveal some changes on the interior. Notably, it features newly themed seats with black and tan upholstery. The exterior enhancements include a fresh LED headlamp design, a redesigned grille, new alloy wheel designs, and LED taillights inspired by the new Seltos.
The Sonet retains its extensive feature list, offering a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, auto climate control, and more. Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and the possibility of ADAS in top-spec variants.
In terms of mechanicals, the Kia Sonet facelift will retain its existing powertrain options, which include 1.2-litre petrol with a 5-speed manual, 1.0-litre turbo petrol with a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT, and a 1.5-litre diesel with a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed TC.
2. New Kia Carnival
Kia has officially unveiled images of the 2024 Carnival which essentially represents the facelifted version of the international model. The design draws inspiration from the new Seltos and the EV9 electric SUV. The updated model features a wider front grille with vertically stacked LED headlamps, a sleek L-shaped DRL, and revised front bumpers for an SUV-style look. The side and rear profiles resemble the updated international model with new alloy wheel designs and LED taillights inspired by the updated Seltos.
While interior details were not revealed, it’s expected that the facelift will include minor updates while retaining the overall theme. The Kia Carnival will continue to offer various seating arrangements based on customer preferences, maintaining a premium feel with new colour themes.
In terms of powertrain, the Indian version is expected to continue with the 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 200 PS of power, coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Kia Carnival will compete against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Invicto and the Toyota Innova Hycross in the Indian market.
