Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition Launched In India at Rs. 16.30 Lakh, it comes with various cosmetic upgrades for better off-roading
Volkswagen India has launched the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition, which was previewed earlier in 2023, at a price of Rs 16.30 lakh (ex-showroom). This special edition Taigun GT Edge Trail comes at the same price as the standard GT trim of the Taigun.
Design
The Trail Edition is designed to enhance the Taigun’s identity as an SUV and includes various cosmetic elements to give it a more rugged and distinctive look. To maintain contrast, the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition will be available in three colors: Reflex Silver, Candy White, and Carbon Steel Grey. Deliveries are set to begin in November.
The Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition features unique 16-inch black alloy wheels, roof rails with bars, red inserts on the wing mirror casings, a contrast roof, decals on the rear door and three-quarter panels, and ‘Trail Edition’ badging on the exterior.
Interior
Inside, the Taigun GT Edge Trail gets new leatherette seat covers with ‘Trail’ embossing, stainless steel pedals, and a dual-view dashcam. The rest of the equipment list remains similar to the standard Taigun GT, with features like hill start assist, front fog lamps, touch panel for the auto climate control system, auto headlights and wipers, wireless phone charging, a reverse camera, and powered wing mirrors, among others.
Powertrain
The Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is powered by the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission as the only gearbox option for this special edition.
