In the sedan segment for October 2023, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire continued to assert its dominance and is leading the charts ahead of competitors like the Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze. 1. Maruti Suzuki Dzire
In October 2023, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire maintained its stronghold by securing the top spot on the sedan sales charts. Impressively, 14,699 units were sold during this period, exhibiting a remarkable year-on-year (YoY) positive sales growth of 19 percent compared to the 12,321 units sold in the same period last year.
2. Hyundai Aura
The Hyundai Aura retained its second position in the sedan sales hierarchy registering a domestic tally of 4,096 units. However, a slight YoY volume decline of 4% was observed compared to the 4,248 units sold during the corresponding period in 2022.
3. Honda Amaze
Securing the third position in sedan sales for October 2023, the Honda Amaze recorded 2,890 units. This marked a notable YoY negative sales growth of 47 percent, down from 5,443 units in the same period 12 months ago.
4. New-Gen Hyundai Verna
The new-generation Hyundai Verna introduced earlier this year, secured the fourth position with a total of 2,313 units. This represented a YoY positive sales increase of 6% compared to the 2,179 units sold in October 2022.
5. Skoda Slavia
The Skoda Slavia climbed the rankings, finishing in the fifth position with 1,943 units. This showcased an impressive YoY sales growth of 41&, up from 1,376 units in October 2022.
6. Volkswagen Virtus
Sharing the same platform as the Skoda Slavia, the Volkswagen Virtus secured the sixth position with a total of 1,772 units. The model exhibited a remarkable YoY growth of 65 percent, emphasizing its competitiveness in the market.
7. Tata Tigor
The Tata Tigor, finishing in the seventh position, faced a YoY drop of 61&, recording a total of 1,563 units against 4,001 units.
8. Honda City
The Honda City secured the eighth position with 1,553 units, experiencing a YoY decline of 52& from the 3,250 units sold in the same period last year.
9. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Toyota Camry
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Toyota Camry covered the ninth and tenth places, respectively, rounding off the top ten sedans for October 2023.
